Soli Deo Gloria Brass Ensemble
This is the group for all adult brass musicians. Its focus is on large-scale works for brass ensemble. The repertoire ranges from medium easy to a nice challenge.

Trombone Choir
All trombonists from the Soli Deo Gloria Brass Ensemble are encouraged to participate in the Trombone Choir.  Repertoire for this group is from 16th C masters to the present day.

Soli Deo Gloria Chamber Ensemble
From time to time the director hand selects brass players to prepare more challenging music.  The Chamber Brass strives to perform at a very high level.

Soli Deo Gloria Horn Choir
As we have grown we have been able to add a horn choir to the ensembles.  As with the Trombone Choir, all horn players are encouraged to participate.

Soli Deo Gloria Junior Brass Choir
This brass group is just in the development stages.  It is designed to train young musicians in the traditions of brass music in the Lutheran church.  Tone, technique and tuning are developed through graded ensemble literature.

Soli Deo Gloria Brass Ensembles
There are no auditions to join the groups listed here.  All levels of musicians are accepted.  All that is required is that you be a confirmed Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) or Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS) member.

The SGD Brass is under the direction of Dr. Patricia Backhaus.  She is an internationally known performer on the trumpet and is also a gifted conductor, composer and arranger.  The SDG Brass perform many of her arrangements and transcriptions.
